Apple Unveils iPhone 3G, With GPS
At last the much awaited iPhone next version is officially announced to be available from July 11th.
Apple Inc. revealed Monday, at WWDC, that it has scrapped its pricing plan for the iPhone as it unveiled a model that works over faster wireless networks, addressing key criticisms about the device that have hurt the company’s foray into the cell phone industry.
The new iPhones, initially to be introduced in 22 countries, are designed to work over so-called 3G, or third-generation, wireless networks and have global-positioning technology built in, and available in two colors this time: white and black.
An 8-gigabyte version with the new features will go for $199 when it goes on sale July 11, and a 16 gigabyte model will cost $299, Apple announced.
They will also support Microsoft Corp.’s Exchange software, an addition that puts the iPhone in more direct competition with Research in Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry and Palm Inc.’s Treo smart phones and is intended to appeal to the business market.
And, current iPhone owners need not worry, they can upgrade to iPhone software version 2. With the iPhone 2.0 Software Update, your iPhone will do even more. Extend its capabilities with innovative applications you download directly from the new App Store. Get push email, calendar, and contacts from your Microsoft Exchange server at work. And use great new features in Mail, Contacts, and other applications. Free in the next update.

I would like to buy the IPhone 8gig, how do i go about placing an order.
You need to goto Apple store or whatever the operator offering iPhone in your country.
Otherwise you need to want till it is released in your country.
Is it releasing in india on the same date?
if it is what would be the price 199*43?
Hope it is that way
In India it will be released in September,
and the price would be around 25/26K. (Price will be more here because it is not contract model.)
